Beginning Band

These exercises can be done in a class setting or individually. To get started, have a fingering chart for your instrument. If you don’t have one, there are many websites that off them for free. See the link below for suggested resources. For now, this section will start with the assumption that students know how to hold their instrument, form an embouchure, and produce a basic sound. Videos on those may come later. For now, these videos will teach the notes of the Bb Concert scale using basic rhythmic patterns. These will teach all notes in ranges typically taught through 7th grade. If you are a student, watch the video below to learn how to use these videos, and get started on the 1st Exercise - 1 note wonder. If you are a teacher, watch the video on how I use this in class, and feel free to get started!
